CHICAGO — Everybody is excited about the Chicago Bears this year. Even the Hallmark Channel.
The Bears will be featured in “Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story,” the third original movie in the franchise created by Hallmark Media, the NFL and Skydance Sports. The franchise began in 2024 with a Kansas City Chiefs-themed movie — which featured cameos from coach Andy Reid, several Chiefs players and even tight end Travis Kelce’s mother Donna Kelce.
Last year, the franchise made a Buffalo Bills-themed movie that featured cameos from numerous Bills players past and present, including current safety Damar Hamlin and legendary quarterback Jim Kelly.
Bears coach Ben Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland announced this year’s Bears-themed movie in a video released Thursday morning.
A release date has not been announced, but the film will be out in 2026 as part of Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual “Countdown to Christmas.”
“After the tremendous success of our first two Holiday Touchdown movies, we knew we wanted to continue the tradition by partnering with another iconic NFL franchise and fan base,” Hallmark Media president Darren Abbott said in a statement. “The Chicago Bears have a rich history, passionate supporters, and a culture that extends far beyond the football field, making them a perfect fit for a heartwarming holiday story.”
Production will begin this summer and will film entirely at locations in and around Chicago, showcasing the city’s iconic sites, historic traditions and passion for the Bears.
“We are honored, grateful and excited to join forces with Hallmark Media, Skydance Sports and NFL Films on this special project,” Bears president and CEO Kevin Warren said in a statement. “As we continually look for ways to further the connection with our passionate Chicago Bears fans and amplify our global brand in creative ways, we will provide our club and our fans with the opportunity to grow together by creating a special, meaningful movie.”
Skydance Sports serves as the executive producer of the film. An exclusive content partner of the NFL, Skydance Sports is behind such films as “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,” the Netflix series about Jerry Jones and the 1990s Cowboys, as well as “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants” on HBO and the recently released “Rafa” about tennis star Rafael Nadal on Netflix.
The cast for the Bears movie will be announced at a later date.
