Will Taylor Sheridan make more Paramount+ shows before his contract ends?

FORT WORTH, Texas — Paramount is hoping to get all they can from Taylor Sheridan before his contract ends in 2028.
Jane Wiseman, executive vice president and head of originals at Paramount+, recently spoke with Deadline about a wide variety of topics, including the Fort Worth-raised creator. The chat itself was timed to Wiseman’s one-year anniversary at the streamer.
In October 2025, word broke that Sheridan is packing his bags and moving to NBCUniversal on a nearly $1 billion deal for him to develop film and television projects.
The film side of Sheridan’s Paramount contract ended in March, while the television side runs through 2028. And, according to Wiseman, the company is going to get all they can from him before time runs out.
Here’s what to know.
Paramount exec on Taylor Sheridan’s exit
Deadline asked Wiseman if viewers can expect new Sheridan projects before his deal ends.
“That is the hope, and that is the intention. We have ‘Frisco King’ coming. We have a couple things that I can’t talk about, but we work very closely with Taylor and [101 Studios CEO] David Glasser,” Wiseman said.
“Frisco King” is the new “Tulsa King” spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson that is set in Frisco, Texas.
The eight-episode series was originally supposed to be set in New Orleans under the title “NOLA King,” but is now a North Texas production. The show filmed its first season from March to July all across the Metroplex, including in Fort Worth.
No release date has been set for “Frisco King,” but it joins a growing number of Sheridan-run properties that are heading for Paramount+ in the near future.
“We have a really great relationship, and the idea that we have more ‘Madison’ coming, we have more ‘Landman’ coming, we have more ‘Dutton [Ranch]’ coming, and there are a couple things that we’ve been discussing that we would love to get on the service before [20]29,” Wiseman told Deadline. “But we know that [Sheridan’s] legacy will remain with us for many, many years to come because of all the shows I just mentioned.”
Wiseman also mentioned that Sheridan is in the midst of writing “Landman” Season 3.
Series star James Jordan told Us Weekly a few weeks ago that the show will start filming in Fort Worth in September and continue through early 2027. No release date has been set for the third go-around.
