Michelle Rodriguez: Young stars deaths are 'not normal'

Michelle Rodriguez thinks it is "not normal" how many young stars have passed away over the last two decades.
The Fast and the Furious actress is worried about "weird" happenings in the wake of the death of Hayden Panettiere - who passed away on Sunday (16.08.26) after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of just 36 - but doesn't "want to speculate" about the reasons why.
She told Variety: "I've got to tell you, man, I just can't stand how many young people are leaving us lately. It's disheartening, and it's making me think, 'What's going on?' It's not normal.
"I don't want to speculate about anything, but it's weird. Just in general, the amount and the volume of it since 2010 to now, it's a lot."
The 48-year-old actress co-hosted the World Music Awards with Hayden back in 2010 and paid tribute to how "joyous" she was.
Asked what she remembered most about the Heroes star, she said: "Her curious spirit and how happy and joyous she is, because that's her memory, right?"
Meanwhile, Alex PenaVega recently declared her sadness over the deaths of fellow child stars Hayden, Michelle Trachtenberg and Daveigh Chase.
Hayden's passing comes after Gossip Girl actress Michelle passed away in February, aged 39, and Lilo + Stitch star Daveigh died just two months ago, aged 35.
The Spy Kids star shared a heart-broken emoji on her Instagram, and added: "Hayden, Michelle, Daveigh... my heart is heavy today.
"These aren't just names from my childhood. They're girls I grew up alongside, sharing a world that was exciting and also incredibly hard.
"We were kids navigating something so big, and not everyone had the foundation or support they deserved."
Alexa advised her fans to "hug" their loved ones "close" following the devastating triple loss.
She added: "Today, I'm grieving and holding their families close in my prayers and thinking of everyone still fighting battles we can't see. Hug your people close today"
Wizards of Waverly Place star David Henrie also admitted he had been left devastated by the deaths.
He commented: "Very well said. I'm heartbroken and praying immensely."
Former Victorious actress Daniella Monet wrote: "I feel this deeply."
Several stars have paid tribute to Hayden following her passing last weekend.
Nashville star Connie Britton wrote on Instagram: "This was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright. I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak. I love you girl. Sleep easy now."
Fellow Nashville star Charles Esten posted on Instagram: "She was, of course, extraordinarily talented, infusing her larger-than-life character with all the heart, charisma, humor, whip-smart intelligence, and flat-out magic that were, alongside whatever troubles and pain she carried, a part of her own personal palette.
"What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. (sic)"
Jimmy Jean-Louis, who appeared opposite Hayden in Heroes, wrote on Instagram: "SAVE THE CHEERLEADER, SAVE THE WORLD. It was an honor to protect Claire Bennett for 4 unforgettable seasons. Goodbye Hayden #haitianhero (sic)"
