Chrissie Hynde has asked fans for urgent help after her much‑loved dog, Nico, went missing in London.

The Pretenders frontwoman shared a heartfelt statement on Instagram, revealing she is "absolutely heartbroken" and deeply worried for her pet, who has now been on the run for two weeks.

In her post, Chrissie wrote: "I've lost my dog, Nico. She is very dear to me and I am absolutely heartbroken. She was last seen in Silkstream park in Colindale London. If you see her, can you let me know?"

The singer fears Nico may have travelled far beyond the area.

She explained: "I realise she could be anywhere in the country now if she got into someone's car or if someone has taken her away somehow."

Chrissie also urged anyone who spots Nico to avoid approaching her directly, stressing that the dog is likely frightened after being missing for so long.

She wrote: "Please don't chase her as she might be very nervous having been on the run now for two weeks.

"If you know anything about her whereabouts can you let me know? XCH."

Her team added that CHHQ will be monitoring comments and message requests, encouraging fans to get in touch immediately with any information that could help bring Nico home.

Animal rights charity PETA sent Chrissie some advice.

They commented: "We're devastated to hear this. Putting up posters locally, offering a reward, and reaching out to all nearby shelters and rescue groups can make the difference. Never give up; miracles happen. Hoping hard that sweet Nico is home safe soon."

Chrissie is known for her animal rights activism and has protested and campaigned several times.

Back in 2004, she joined a demonstration outside a KFC restaurant in France, where she and fellow campaigners smeared fake blood on the windows before being taken into custody. She's also been vocal about ending New York City's horse‑drawn carriage trade.
