Olivia Wilde feels "confused" by Elon Musk.

The 42-year-old actress met the world's richest man a number of years ago, before he started to involve himself in world politics, and Olivia has now admitted to being bemused by the path Elon has taken in life.

During a recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Olivia explained: "I really resent him now. I really deeply resent him.

"I met him many, many years ago. I think SpaceX had just built their headquarters in Los Angeles and I got to go on a tour because I wanted to see the rocket ships.

"He was interested in donating money to an organization that I was a part of in Haiti that was building hospitals and schools. I believe he did donate a little bit of money, and that's appreciated. I was confused by him.

"I would never have predicted he would go down the path he has gone down. He did seem really smart."

Olivia admitted to being particularly baffled by Elon's contention that "we don't have enough people and the world is underpopulated and we could handle another billion people".

By contrast, Olivia recently heaped praise on Hugh Laurie, her former House co-star.

The actress starred alongside Hugh in House, the hit TV show, between 2006 and 2012, and she still has fond memories of working with the British actor.

Asked by Armchair Expert podcast host Dax Shepherd whether she was smitten with her co-star, Olivia replied: "He is so smitten-worthy. No, he's so smart.

"I loved him on Jeeves and Wooster, and he had done all sorts of interesting comedy in the English comedy theatre world that I was obsessed with.

"Meeting him, ugh, I mean, the dreamiest dreamboat. And so gracious, and had all these kids around him, really, that he was so sweet and encouraging [toward]."

Olivia and Hugh spent "a lot of time together" on set, and the actress relished the experience.

The actress-turned-director recalled: "We did, like, 19-hour days. I think the show went eight years. I did, I think, four years."
