NEW YORK — The concertgoer who plunged to his death from an upper tier at Madison Square Garden during a Goose show appeared intoxicated as he climbed over a plexiglass barrier, police sources said Tuesday.

Paul Kueker, 51, of Niantic, Connecticut, fell during a Goose concert Saturday night, where he was celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife. Police said they do no suspect foul play.

The city Medical Examiner has not yet determined his cause or manner of death.

Witnesses told police that Kueker appeared intoxicated as he climbed over a 4-foot high plexiglass barrier two sections away from where he had been sitting with his wife. It’s not clear to police whether he then accidentally fell or intentionally jumped.

Medics rushed him to Bellevue Hospital but he could not be saved.

Kueker was a devoted father to a son and a daughter and had just watched his son graduate from high school two days before dying on the night before Father’s Day.

“He loved everybody,” his mother, Patti Finelli, told the Daily News Sunday. “He had no enemies. He was the life of the party. His sense of humor was beyond.”

Kueker’s wife, Kristen, didn’t see him fall, his mother said.

“He got up to go to the bathroom and he didn’t come back,” Finelli said. “She was getting worried after 10 or 15 minutes. And he didn’t come back.”

Kueker worked as a director of operations for Smartcon Solutions, a Connecticut-based software company. Prior to that he worked as a manager of field operations for Honeywell for more than 13 years.

Goose held a moment of silence for Kueker before the band’s Central Park concert Sunday.

“We are all reeling following the events that occurred at last night’s show,” the band said on social media. “Getting off stage to learn that news was devastating for us and our crew, and we cannot imagine how some of you left the show feeling last night.”
