Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester concert proved to be a turning point in Frankie Grande's addiction battle.

The 43-year-old star is the older half-brother of Ariana, 32, and he's explained how her benefit concert in Manchester in 2017, following the deadly bombing at Ariana's concert at the Manchester Arena two weeks earlier, changed his own life.

Speaking to People, Ariana explained: "I still look back at the One Love Manchester concert and I just felt so useless and so disconnected from my family at a time where I just wished that I could be connected to them.

"I don't think it's a coincidence that it was a few weeks after One Love Manchester that I checked into rehab.

"I used to be able to drink and use drugs in order to escape that feeling.

"At that hotel room in London, there was no amount of drinking or drugs that I could escape that feeling from. There was no way I could run anymore. That shame and that guilt was anywhere I looked and anywhere I turned.

"There were two options. It was die or get clean. Those were the only two options because that's the only way that I was going to escape those feelings of shame and guilt."

Frankie has also managed to rebuild his relationship with his sister.

He said: "It's just been so indescribable to say how grateful I am to have [Ariana] in my life and to have repaired that relationship to the point where we're so happy and comfortable with each other again."

Frankie has been sober since 2017, but he admits that it's an ongoing struggle for him.

The actor doubts whether he'd even be able to survive another stint of partying and drug-taking.

He said: "It's not something that you can just magically snap your fingers and be like, 'Oh look, I'm sober now'.

"There's always a fear with addicts and alcoholics, that at any point, I truly believe that if I relapse, I'm not coming back. I do believe that to be the case. I don't think I have another stint of partying in me. I think I will just die."
