Short-handed Pistons overcome injuries, illness in win over Pelicans

The Detroit Pistons opened the second half of the 2025-26 campaign showcasing why they are among the league's top championship contenders.
Wednesday night inside Smoothie King Center, the Pistons took a 112-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. While improving to 32-10 on the season, the Pistons also won their fourth consecutive game.
The Pistons picked up their 14th road win of the season despite being significantly shorthanded. They played without Cade Cunningham and Caris LeVert, both out due to injuries. In addition, Cunningham was also dealing with a left hip contusion.
Five players scored in double figures, with Jalen Duren leading the way with 20 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks, marking his 20th double-double of the season.
