Everyone from Jon Stewart to Alex Jones is weighing in on the Trump/Musk feud

Social media exploded with hot takes from all over the political spectrum Thursday amid the very public and acrimonious split between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

The feud between one of the world’s most powerful leaders and the world’s wealthiest man appeared to be simmering even before Musk left the White House last week after briefly serving in Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency.

The billionaire entrepreneur finally snapped on Tuesday when Republicans proposed a bill he felt undermined his efforts to trim federal spending. He later accused Trump of not appreciating the nearly $300 million he spent last year to put the president and his acolytes back in power.

“Such ingratitude,” Musk posted on social media Thursday. “Without me, Trump would have lost the election.”

In reaction, the president dismissively accused Musk of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and indicated he may do away with some of the businessman’s lucrative government contracts.

Hours later, Musk dropped “the really big bomb,” accusing President Trump of being in the “Epstein files,” referring to a collection of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking crimes and his high-status associates.

Tech reporter Kara Swisher, who practically wrote the book on Elon Musk, gloated on Bluesky that she saw this coming.

“Called it — there can be only one,” the “Burn Book” author captioned a post linking to a November CNN story in which she predicted the polarizing billionaires wouldn’t be able to co-exist forever.

“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart has in recent weeks goaded Musk to come on his show after the Tesla CEO said he would and then backed out. Stewart also questioned if the black eye Musk was seen with last Friday really came from roughhousing with his 5-year-old son, as Musk claimed it did.

On Thursday, Stewart wondered if Trump’s decision to make Musk a White House adviser with nearly unlimited access to government computers and sensitive data could become problematic later on.

“Good thing Trump didn’t willfully hand over the entirety of our country’s operating system to Elon and his…oops,” Stewart sarcastically wrote on X, the social platform owned by Musk.

Infowars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones expressed concern that Trump and Musk, who largely share his right-wing views, spent the day attacking one another.

“God Help Us ALL,” Jones wrote on X.

Right-wing influencer and former Fox News star Megyn Kelly ended her Thursday afternoon by longing for Thursday morning, when left-wing politicos were instead attacking each other over a new book written by former President Joe Biden’s press secretary.

“Remember this morning when the big story was Dems piling on Karine Jean-Pierre?” Kelly asked online.
