Meghan, Duchess of Sussex 's new TV job was "an easy yes".

The 45-year-old royal has confirmed she's heading Down Under to appear as a co-host on Junior MasterChef Australia and she can't wait to get started working with the youngsters in the kitchen because she loves cooking with her own children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, who she shares with her husband Prince Harry.

Meghan - who made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia earlier this year - said in a statement: "I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes.

"I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what they cook up!"

Meghan will be hosting the show alongside MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow, who said in a statement: "I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat. I can't wait to meet our pint-sized culinary adventurers."

Earlier this year, Meghan made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia, stepping away from the Sussexes' four-day visit in April to take part in filming. She was described as "a passionate foodie with global influence" when her appearance as a guest judge was announced.

The former actress recently relocated from California to Britain with her family but her new job means she will be heading to Melbourne for several weeks while she films Junior MasterChef Australia which aims to inspire a younger generation of aspiring cooks.

Over the summer, Meghan was linked to a potential appearance in The Gentlemen, the Netflix crime drama created by Guy Ritchie, 58.

The reports prompted claims the proposed casting was a publicity stunt intended to generate attention for the program's latest series.

Meghan has not taken a scripted acting role since leaving Suits in 2017, shortly before her engagement to Harry was announced.

During her time on the legal drama, she appeared alongside Gabriel Macht, 54, and Patrick J Adams, 45, playing Rachel across seven seasons of the program.

Despite continuing to work in television production, Meghan previously indicated she did not intend to resume her acting career.

In a 2022 interview with Variety, she said: "I'm done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."
