'Call Her Daddy' host Alex Cooper gives birth to first child

NEW YORK — “Call Her Daddy’s” Alex Cooper is officially a mom.
The 32-year-old podcast host and her husband, Hollywood producer Matthew Kaplan, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy. Cooper took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her news with fans, posting a picture of her newborn, who is cuddled up and wearing a fuzzy pajama set. She also captioned the post with a single blue heart emoji, though she did not share his name.
Cooper first revealed she was expecting back in May with another Instagram post, this one made up of a pair of photos featuring Kaplan cradling her baby bump.
“Our family,” she wrote alongside the images, capping off the caption with a white heart emoji.
Cooper has shared a series of updates since then, including when she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes back in July. She said the condition occurs “when the placenta hormones cause insulin resistance — aka your pancreas cannot create enough insulin to keep your blood sugar normal.” Cooper also described the diagnosis as “very isolating,” adding that it only made her more concerned for the health of her unborn child.
“This diagnosis was so upsetting, I think, because during pregnancy, there’s already so much emotionally that you’re going through — I am so blessed and there’s been so many incredible parts of my pregnancy — but it’s a lot.”
On Thursday, Cooper shared a slideshow of photos from throughout her pregnancy. She described her journey to motherhood as “the most transformative 9 months of my life.”
Cooper and Kaplan first met over a Zoom call in 2020, and they went on to tie the knot in in April 2024. Together they co-founded the Unwell Network, a subsidiary of the media company Trending.
