Travis Kelce is "not a big birthday guy".

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end turned 37 on 5 October and while he had a "nice" day with wife Taylor Swift, he admitted he wasn't particularly bothered about having a big celebration.

Discussing how he marked the occasion with brother Jason Kelce on their New Heights podcast, Travis said: "It feels nice because I had a lot of people reach out and say 'happy birthday'.

"And, yeah, it was a good day. It was a fun day. Got some food out here in New York. Went to one of my favorite spots -- Torrisi. Got to hang with Tay."

Noting he isn't a "big birthday guy", the sportsman admitted he didn't even have a birthday cake, though he had plenty of other sweet treats.

He said: "No, but Torrisi's got some good desserts. They brought out the entire arsenal. They got some good yogurt. They got an espresso shaved icing with ice cream and chocolate underneath. It was weird. It was nice though."

But the one thing that made Travis' birthday perfect was Kansas City Chiefs' victory over the Las Vegas Raiders the day before, because his day would have been "ruined" without the win.

He said: "And the best news that I got on my birthday was that we got a victory.

"That was the happiness I had around my birthday. I got the win going into the bye [week] and we're 4 and 0."

Asked if losing would have "ruined" Travis' birthday, he replied: "Losing ruins everyone's life. Yes.

"That's the f****** worst thing to ever go down. So if I would have lost, it would have ruined my birthday for sure."

Jason pressed his younger brother for further details on his birthday, but Travis declined to continue the conversation.

He said: "No, I would love to just keep it moving."

The Chiefs now have a bye week before returning to face the Los Angeles Chargers on 18 October, but Travis doesn't have too many plans for the break.

He said: "I'm just gonna be working out...

"To be 4 and 0 going into the bye was one of the challenges that we set for ourselves.

"Obviously, excited to be where we're at, but even more excited to see where this thing could go, man. We got a hell of a team that's playing f****** well together."
