Sandra Bullock feels Hollywood has changed for the better.

The 62-year-old actress has enjoyed a long and successful career in the movie business, and Sandra feels heartened by the recent direction of travel in Hollywood.

Sandra - who has reprised her role as Sally Owens in Practical Magic 2, the sequel to 1998's Practical Magic - told Interview magazine: "When I think back, I wasn't allowed to produce, or go out there and say, 'No, we need the best of the best.' It was scarier back then.

"Now we've seen behind the curtain and we see it's all smoke and mirrors. We get to have more agency over our narrative now and speak the truth, when back then we really couldn't. There was a machine doing it for you."

Sandra explained that she prefers the current landscape of the film business.

She said: "In an odd way, I like it better now. That's why Practical Magic 2 needs to be made now, because it gets to tell the story of what we're allowed to do and talk about now, that no one wanted to talk about before."

Meanwhile, Lily Collins previously recalled being "mothered" by Sandra on the set of The Blind Side.

The 37-year-old actress starred alongside Sandra in the 2009 sports drama movie, and Lily still has fond memories of working with the veteran movie star.

The brunette beauty - who is the daughter of music star Phil Collins - told Sky News: "My first film, I was mothered by Sandra Bullock, and she really took me under her wing during that experience and showed me the ropes.

"Even when she didn't know she was teaching me, she was teaching me because I would watch her on set … the way that she spoke to everyone, treated everyone, the questions she asked, and how she just valued her character in ways that I didn't know going into it that you can value, or things that you can ask or the right that you have to, you know, bring your own ideas."
