Salma Hayek welcomes first grandchild at 59

Salma Hayek is a grandmother.
The 59-year-old “Frida” actor celebrated that milestone on Instagram Sunday.
“We are blessed to welcome the fourth living generation of Francois’. Although I will call him Panchito,” she captioned a video of herself holding her newborn grandson and speaking Spanish.
Hayek’s 38-year-old stepson François Pinault Jr. and his wife Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck are the baby’s parents, according to People. Hayek is the stepmom to her husband François-Henri Pinault’s three children. They also have an 18-year-old daughter.
Von Donnersmarck also posted photos of the latest addition to the family and the baby’s dad online.
“My husband (the world’s coolest françois) and our son (the world’s cutest françois) … our first month as parents,” she captioned photos added to Instagram last week.
Hayek’s new grandson has already taken to his nickname, the movie star claims.
“He seems to love it, and I cannot love him more,” she wrote.
Hayek told Oprah Winfrey during a 2003 interview that it was her “dream” to someday have children. She confessed that being a sex symbol had its perks early on, but she always had bigger ambitions.
“This bombshell thing; it’s old now,” Hayek said. “It served me. And I got out of it in time to keep from serving it.”
In addition to acting steadily, she’s also a successful producer who’s done some directing. Her Spanish-language HBO show “Like Water for Chocolate” concluded in March.
