Donald Trump is set to present the World Cup trophy to the winners on July 19.
The 2026 tournament is underway with the group stage across the Untied States, Canada and Mexico, and it's been confirmed the US President will appear alongside FIFA boss Gianni Infantino to present the winning team with the prestigious prize after the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Infantino, 56, told Fox and Friends: "We will be together with the president [Trump] enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together.
"We are together all the time."
Since starting as FIFA president, Infantino has presented the World Cup trophy himself in Qatar four years ago, and the tournament in Russia in 2018.
He has been seen alongside Trump, 80, in the past.
Back in December 2025, Infantino presented the world leader with the inaugural FIFA peace prize before the draw for the World Cup.
They also stepped out together for Chelsea's win over Paris Saint-Germain at MetLife Stadium in July 2025 for the FIFA Club World Cup final.
The fans booed Trump when he was introduced, while the president was seen awkwardly standing by as the players celebrated, even after Infantino had left.
The FIFA president eventually stepped in and seemed to convince Trump to let the Chelsea squad have their moment.
Although Trump will be present for the World Cup final, he's yet to attend a match in the tournament so far.
However, he did appear at Madison Square Garden for New York Knicks' NBA Finals game against the San Antonio Spurs, which marked the team's first home game in their first Finals appearance since 1999.
He attended in a private box, at the invitation of Knicks owner and friend James Dolan, and was booed by fans in MSG in what was his first game in years.
There was a knock-on effect for fans too, with airport-like security at the iconic arena, which the New York Police Department also shut down 10-square blocks around the venue in Manhattan.
