Rebecca Gayheart has paid tribute to her daughter Georgia Dane after the teenager completed middle school.

Describing the past year as "incredibly difficult" just months after the death of the girl's father, Euphoria actor Eric Dane, widow Rebecca, 54, shared a moving message on Instagram alongside photographs and videos from Georgia's graduation ceremony.

Georgia, 14, is one of two daughters Rebecca shared with Eric, who died in February aged 53 following a battle with ALS.

Posting online alongside images from the graduation ceremony, Rebecca said: "Congratulations Georgia!!! You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year.

"I am so beyond proud of you - your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display.

"Welcome to high school - I have no doubt you're ready . I am so excited for you ! Not pictured is your MVP trophy for beach volleyball. Bravo , congratulations and I love you so much. (Red heart emoji.)"

The collection of photographs included footage of Georgia receiving a sunflower and graduation certificate on stage, alongside family photographs from the event.

Among those offering congratulations was actress Ellen Pompeo, who starred opposite Eric in Grey's Anatomy, on which he portrayed fan-favourite plastic surgeon Mark Sloan, widely known to viewers as "McSteamy".

Ellen wrote in the comments: "Congratulations Georgia!!! Well Done.. your mamas words are perfect!!!"

Actress Alyssa Milano, who appeared alongside Eric in Charmed, also commented on the post.

She wrote: "Your girls are so gorgeous. Like their mama."

One follower commented: "Congratulations Georgia You overcame a difficult situation and carried yourself with a level of class and dignity that is so beyond your years. Your Dad will always be there to watch over you. All my Prayers for you and the girls Rebecca."

Georgia's graduation comes nearly four months after Eric's death.

His family announced the news in a statement issued after he died in Los Angeles.

It read: "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS.

"He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always."

The statement also noted Eric's "passionate" advocacy for "others facing the same fight".

Following his diagnosis, Eric spoke publicly about living with ALS and continued working while raising awareness of the disease.

His final television appearances came as Euphoria continued to attract attention ahead of its long-awaited third season, with filming and cast updates remaining a major talking point among fans of the drama.

Shortly after his death was announced, a pre-recorded message from Eric was released as part of Netflix's Famous Last Words.

Addressing his daughters directly, Eric said: "Billie and Georgia, these words are for you.

"I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried. Overall, we had a blast, didn't we?"

He added: "Fight, girls, and hold your heads high."

Eric also urged Billie and Georgia to live "right now in the present" and to "fall in love with something" that "makes you wanna get up in the morning".

He concluded: "You can face the end of your days. You can face hell with dignity."

Eric was best known for his roles as Dr Mark Sloan in Grey's Anatomy and Cal Jacobs in HBO drama Euphoria.

In the months before his death, Eric became a prominent advocate for people living with ALS after publicly revealing his diagnosis in 2025.

Rebecca and Eric had called off their divorce following the diagnosis and remained united in supporting their daughters, Georgia and Billie Dane, 16.
