DETROIT — Emily Gilmore is coming to Brighton.

Actress Kelly Bishop, who played Emily Gilmore on the hit TV show "Gilmore Girls," will be making her way to Brighton for this year's "Gilmore Girls"-themed fan event, Destination Stars Hollow, organizers announced Wednesday.

Bishop, 82, will participate in a series of exclusive Q&As at the third annual three-day event, Sept. 25-27. (No word yet on if she'll be hosting a Friday night dinner at the festival.)

She joins already announced guests Scott Patterson and Sean Gunn. Tickets for Destination Stars Hollow will go on sale this summer, according to organizers.

Patterson was also a guest at last year's Destination Stars Hollow, which drew tens of thousands of fans to Brighton to toast all things "Gilmore Girls" while celebrating the city's small businesses.

"Gilmore Girls" ran for seven seasons (2000-07) and retains a large following for the world it created.

The fest launched in 2024 and was a surprise success, drawing fans from all over the U.S. for its quirky commemoration of the hit series about mothers and daughters in a small, picturesque New England town.

Bishop's long list of credits include "Dirty Dancing," "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's "Bunheads," and Broadway's "A Chorus Line," which netted her a Tony Award.

Her autobiography, "The Third Gilmore Girl," was published in 2024.
