Billy Bob Thornton reveals when 'Landman' Season 3 starts filming in North Texas
Published in Entertainment News
FORT WORTH, Texas — “Landman” star Billy Bob Thornton recently provided an update on when filming will start for season 3 of the hit show.
The show, co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, returned for its 10-episode second season in November 2025 and aired weekly until mid-January. Over its first two seasons, the Paramount+ series primarily filmed in and around Cowtown.
In January, Wallace said cameras will roll on “Landman” Season 3 in May. However, Thornton is now saying that filming has shifted a few months down the road.
Here’s what to know.
Here’s when ‘Landman’ Season 3 begins filming
Last week, Thornton revealed on Howie Mandel’s podcast that “Landman” will begin filming Season 3 in August.
As Mandel wrapped up the show, he told listeners to watch “Landman” Season 3 and Thornton quickly responded back with, “We start Season 3 at the end of August.”
That was the only detail Thornton shared about the new season.
Ahead of the August start, some of the “Landman” cast will have a busy summer.
Thornton is hitting the road with his band the Boxmasters on a multi-city tour from late June through early August. The band will stop by Fort Worth’s Billy Bob’s Texas on July 17.
Demi Moore, who plays Cami Miller, is currently filming culinary thriller “Tyrant.” Michelle Randolph, who plays Ainsley Norris, will head to France in mid-July to make sci-fi survival thriller “Homewrecker.”
More on ‘Landman’
“Landman” is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs.”
“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Demi Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break,” the show’s second season synopsis reads.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast, “Landman” stars Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, Paulina Chávez, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Colm Feore and Mark Collie.
