A dollar store building in midtown Kansas City partially collapsed Sunday afternoon, killing one person and injuring at least three others, according to Michael Hopkins, a spokesperson for the Kansas City Fire Department.
KCFD responded to the reported building collapse in the 3700 block of Broadway Boulevard just after 2:45 p.m. Sunday. When crews arrived, they discovered part of the front facade of a Family Dollar building had collapsed.
One person died in the collapse. Another was transported to an area with serious injuries, but remains in stable condition, according to Hopkins.
Two others were treated on the scene, but denied additional treatment, Hopkins said.
